House Bill 2998 Transfer Workgroup: Volunteers Needed!

The Higher Education Coordinating Commission is beginning its work to implement House Bill 2998, legislation designed to streamline transfer between Oregon’s community colleges and public universities.

Two representatives are needed from the Oregon Academic Advising Association (OAAA) to serve on the Transfer Workgroup, which will develop foundational curricula and help answer key policy questions regarding transfer. We would like two nominees, one from a community college and one from a university that have a history of collaborative and successful student transfer.

Volunteer Interest Forms are needed by September 6, 2017.

In volunteering, please consider the time commitment workgroup members will be asked to make. The HECC expects members to participate in approximately six meetings from October through January, with the first two meetings scheduled for Friday, October 6th and Friday, October 20th. The HECC also expects workgroup members to actively and regularly communicate workgroup progress to and seek input from CIA and its constituents. Finally, the HECC particularly seeks nominees with a deep interest and investment in improving transfer, familiarity with the Oregon Transfer Module, knowledge of inter-institutional articulation agreements, and/or general education curriculum committee experience.
